Maximum Heart Rate

Your maximum heart rate is the highest number of times your heart can beat in one minute. It's primarily based on age and gender.

Training Zones

Maximum (90-100%): Very short intervals

Hard (80-90%): Improve performance

Moderate (70-80%): Build aerobic fitness

Light (60-70%): Improve endurance

Very Light (50-60%): Warm up/recovery

Resting Heart Rate

A normal resting heart rate for adults ranges from 60-100 beats per minute. Athletes may have rates as low as 40-60 bpm.

Measurement Tip: Take your pulse first thing in the morning while still in bed.
